It’s hard to keep up with all the trends and social media information as it’s such a super-fast environment and is constantly growing. Below are 5 things that you should be taking advantage of in your business:

1. Instagram Sticker Link

Have you always wanted to include a swipe up link but you don’t have 10,000 followers? Have you always wanted people to be able to share your brand on social media but they don’t have a super large following?

Well Instagram have introduced a link sticker for Instagram stories. People can post images of products or places and then add a link sticker which will direct viewers & potential clients (we like to hear) to said product. It’s also available for people to reply to stories with a link sticker which they can’t do to stories with a swipe up option.

How do I use it? When creating your story post, simply swipe up from the bottom of the screen and you will see the option pop up!

2. TikTok Resume

TikTok is the place to share video content – it’s been giving Instagram a run for it’s money throughout the pandemic, causing other channels to also put their focus on video.  A really cool new feature of TikTok is you can now search for and apply for jobs on TikTok: https://tiktokresumes.com

Simply search for job openings > Post a TikTok resume on the app > Submit your TikTok resume, and it’s as easy as that!

Now while this is only available via US and maybe isn’t needed for your business its definitely food for thought on how communicating in everyday life is making its way to social media.

Also, its good to keep an eye on the content being created as it’s mostly likely going to be rolled out here in the UK!

3. Instagram Video Content

Like we have just previously mentioned, Adam Mosseri (the guy in charge) recently caused uproar on social media with it’s latest announcement (read it here). They have shared that the social network won’t just be a photo-sharing app, but instead will be focusing more and more on the video experience they can bring to the platform, to keep up with the likes of snapchat & TikTok.

By focusing more on video, Instagram hopes to create a better entertainment experience. We mention this as something to watch out for as a business owner, as it’s imperative you know how you can best promote your business on social media.

So guess what? Get your camera out and start recording!

If that sounds scary, just drop us a message and we can help you create some great video content.

4. Re-Share Stickers For Stories

This one is interesting.

When swiping up for stickers on your stories, there is a ‘re-share’ option and it will show you content you have interacted with recently to re-share. This is to encourage people to re-share content in a fun and creative way.

The new process with show you a listing of a post that you have recently viewed or saved in the app. Once the piece of content you want to share is chosen, it’s put into your story in a smaller sticker version.

We are mentioning this as we know a lot of business re-share content on their story to highlight people using their product/service, so this new feature might be one to keep an eye on for sharing user generated content.

5. Live Audio Rooms on FB & Podcasts

Social audio is officially launching on Facebook with Live Audio Rooms and podcasts. The social network started releasing these new features in the US.

The Live audio rooms allow you to connect during live conversations on topics you are interested in. Public figures can invite up to 50 people to be speakers in the event and anyone can join as a listener.

This might be a great way to speak about your products or new and exciting business news in the future to target those clients on Facebook!
